Two kinds of cold

I've had two kinds of cold recently. Once was just the weather getting wintery and horrible, so you have to put heating on and walk about with the sleeves of your jumper pulled over your hands and peer in drawers to find gloves and start thinking about not going out unless you have absolutely no chocolate in the house. The other was the cold you catch, which is a kind of non-medical way of saying a virus that makes you sneeze and shiver and feel hot and thirsty and sick and your head aches and so does everything else in rotation and you think about staying in bed. Both together is really really annoying and makes you fed up. And even when you feel better from the body cold, your body is still being all feeble because of the weather cold.

Anyway. It's bad enough for me, but it's worse for Susie because she gets depressed when she doesn't feel well and kind of feels subconsciously that it's her fault when she feels ill, actually, and hates herself for not being all capable as usual, and then gets annoyed with herself for hating herself and all that just makes her slump into a black gloomy kind of mood with everything. She says it's because she's been ill a lot, over her X number of years, and it always made her feel helpless, and she kind of wants someone to bring her chicken soup and fill hot water bottles, when she feels bad, but also realises that, except for me, there's nobody around who can. SO - this means I have been filling hot water bottles and making soup (without chicken) a lot recently. And it's worked, mostly, I mean, neither of us died. But it seems to take a lot out of you, and really everyone, when they feel low and have no energy, could do with a lovely nurse. Or a house in the Bahamas. Sean Connery has a house in the Bahamas. Near Nassau, apparently. I don't know how you pronounce that. Yes I do - it's pronounced £££££££. Eek.
