This is a rare photo of Ms Maguire, which I got off the Internet, well, sneakily nicked off the Herald Newspaper's website (ssshh) from the article she wrote about migraines (see 28th July). It's good, isn't it? She's a bit freaked because now people with magnifying glasses can see what kind of novels she keeps on her shelves, and some of them, she says, (the books, not the people) are things that highbrows would raise their eyebrows over (like popular crime stuff, that she feels she probably ought to have thrown out or given to Shelter ages ago, except that she hates giving books away in case some day she'll need to refer to them, or quote from them, or something.)
Anyway, I like this pic, and she doesn't hate it, and that's a blooming miracle.
